About Programme

A Bachelor of Commerce, abbreviated as B. Com is an undergraduate degree in commerce and related subjects. The Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com) degree was first offered at the University of Birmingham. In India, the duration of B. Com is 3 years.  B. Com is the most preferred choice of a majority of the students who complete their higher secondary education in the commerce stream. B. Com is among the most popular bachelor’s level programmes and is therefore offered in a vast number of colleges and universities. The programme of Bachelor of Commerce is provided in the regular mode. The course is designed to provide students with a wide range- of managerial skills and understanding in streams like finance, accounting, taxation and management”. Bachelor of commerce offers understanding in Accounting, Economics, Business Law, Taxation, Insurance and Management. In addition to the compulsory subjects, students pursuing B. Com can choose their combination of subjects from those offered by our college.  Some colleges allow students to choose their electives in the second or third year of B. Com if they have performed well in their semester exams. Thus, Bachelor of Commerce is a programme that equips students with an in-depth knowledge of the field of commerce pertaining to the areas in which they choose to specialise. Candidates are trained in the particular fields of their choice so that they gain proper knowledge and are capable of putting it to practical use.

After completing B.Com, students can also pursue career in Management, teaching, advertising, law, journalism, mass communication, law, design, etc. After B. Com one can also join M. Com (a post-graduation programme) in Accountancy, Business Management or MA Business Economics offered at our college. Learners can also pursue CS (Company Secretary), CA (Chartered Accountant), CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) and CWA (Cost and work Accountant).

How to Apply

The admission procedure usually starts in the month of June after the results of class XII are declared.

  1. Fill the Pre-enrollment form of the University of Mumbai through the University portal (mum.digitaluniversity.ac). Select the autonomous option for B.Com
  2. Fill online admission form on kesshroffcollege.com
  3. Upload a copy of the pre-enrollment form, HSC mark sheet/digital result, caste/reservation certificate if applicable, and E-Suvidha ticket.
  4. On the declaration of merit list (first then second then third if applicable) pay the fees along with submission of the documents such as Undertaking regarding admission confirmation, SSC(X marksheet), Leaving Certificate, Adhar card, scanned copy of Cheque book leaflet/bank account details and transfer certificate in case the student is from outside Maharashtra.

A candidate for being eligible for admission to the Degree Course in Commerce will have to pass XII Std. examination of the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent and secure not less than 35% marks in aggregate at one and the same sitting.

Duration of Programme: 6 Semesters spread over 3 years. The programme shall consist of 39 Theory papers and Project work.

Enforcement of Attendance:

Our college is a pioneer institute in introducing the computerized attendance system. The computerized defaulters’ lists are displayed division wise regularly at the end of every month on the Students Notice Board. The students failing to fulfill the required attendance shall be DETAINED and shall not be permitted to take the Annual / Board examination. Warning letters from the Principal are sent to parents of the defaulting students. The letters are given to the concerned students by the class teachers in the classrooms. The students must hand over these warning letters to the parents. Students should note that fulfilling the attendance requirement alone will not qualify them to appear for the examination. Their academic performance should also be to the satisfaction of the principal.

General Rules & Regulations:

  1. Every student should obtain an ID card and show at the entry
  2. Students should not loiter in the corridors when the lectures are engaged
  3. Giving proxy attendance is a serious act of indiscipline
  4. Students applying for certificates/testimonials and attestation should first contact the college office
  5. Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college premises
  6. The use of mobile phones inside the college is strictly prohibited. If caught using a cell phone it is confiscated for a period of 1 year
