About Programme

Hindi is the second most spoken language in the world, after Chinese. Billions of people read, write, speak and understand Hindi in India and abroad. With the immense popularity and international importance of Hindi as our national language, there is also a growing outlook of employment in the field of Hindi language. In different departments of the Central government, State governments, it is mandatory to work in Hindi language.

Why this Programme

Students will know about Hindi literature its roots cause perspectives and method. Evaluating the concept of Hindi from past to present and making the society more closely through language the highly compatible with the corporate world, seminars, conferences, and talks are arranged to enrich student’s knowledge on current and diverse topics.

PO 6. विद्यार्थियों को उपन्यास के माध्यम से विभिन्न सामाजिक, नारीगत, आर्थिक, राजनीतिक समस्याओं से परिचित कराना एवं उनके समाधान की ओर ले जाना।
PO 7. मराठी साहित्यकारों द्वारा हिंदी भाषा में व्यक्त राष्ट्रीय अस्मिता को उजागर करना।

PSO 1. हिंदी भाषा साहित्य के अध्ययन से विद्यार्थियों में सामन्वयवादी दृष्टिकोण की स्थापना करना।

There are various posts like Hindi Officer, Hindi Translator, Hindi Assistant, Manager (Official language) in different departments, banking institutions, foreign language department and ministries and departments of Central / State governments. The opportunities have increased manifold with the advent of private TV and Radio channels and launch of Hindi versions of established magazines / newspapers. In the field of Hindi media, there is a need for Editors, Reporters, Correspondents, Sub Editors, Proof Readers, Radio Jockey, Anchors, voice artists, translators, writers, lyricist etc. A Degree / Diploma in Journalism / Mass Communication along with academic qualification in Hindi are an added advantage for job seekers. One can serve the mediums of Radio / TV / Cinema as a Script Writer / Dialogue Writer / Lyricist. This field necessitates a natural and artistic mastery of creative writing.

How to Apply

The admission procedure usually starts in the month of June after the results of undergraduate courses are declared.

  1. Fill the Pre-enrollment form of the University of Mumbai through the University portal (mum.digitaluniversity.ac). Select the autonomous option for MA (Hindi).
  2. Fill online admission form on kesshroffcollege.com
  3. Upload a copy of the pre-enrollment form, Graduation mark sheet/digital result,HSC mark sheet/digital result, caste/reservation certificate if applicable, and E-Suvidha ticket.
  4. On the declaration of merit list (first then second then third if applicable) pay the fees along with submission of the documents such as Undertaking regarding admission confirmation, SSC(X marksheet), Leaving Certificate, Adhar card, scanned copy of Cheque book leaflet/bank account details and transfer certificate in case the student is from outside Maharashtra.

A candidate for being eligible for admission to the course leading to the degree of Master of Arts (Hindi) must have passed the examination for the degree of Bachelor from any discipline of this University or bachelor’s degree of another University recognized as equivalent thereto.

Duration of Programme: 4 Semesters spread over 2 years.

Enforcement of Attendance:

Our college is a pioneer institute in introducing the computerized attendance system. The computerized defaulters’ lists are displayed division wise regularly at the end of every month on the Students Notice Board. The students failing to fulfill the required attendance shall be DETAINED and shall not be permitted to take the Annual / Board examination. Warning letters from the Principal are sent to parents of the defaulting students. The letters are given to the concerned students by the class teachers in the classrooms. The students must hand over these warning letters to the parents. Students should note that fulfilling the attendance requirement alone will not qualify them to appear for the examination. Their academic performance should also be to the satisfaction of the principal.

General Rules & Regulations:

  1. Every student should obtain an ID card and show at the entry
  2. Students should not loiter in the corridors when the lectures are engaged
  3. Giving proxy attendance is a serious act of indiscipline
  4. Students applying for certificates/testimonials and attestation should first contact the college office
  5. Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college premises
  6. The use of mobile phones inside the college is strictly prohibited. If caught using a cell phone it is confiscated for a period of 1 year

Punitive Measures:

  4. Withholding or withdrawing of University exam form
  5. Expulsion / rustication from college
  6. Fine not exceeding Rs. 300
